Tournament Format
Every player contributes. Every pairing matters.
- The StriveX Team Tournament is designed as a genuine team competition rather than a tournament where two fixed pairs represent each team.
- Each team consists of four playing players, and every player partners with every other player during the group stage.
- This creates six possible pairings within a four-player team.
- Each team therefore contributes six pairings during a group-stage match.
Match Format
- Every pairing plays one set to 15 points, with setting.
- The same 15-point format applies throughout both the group stage and knockout stage.
- Group-stage rankings are determined primarily by:
- Sets won
- Net rally-point difference
- Head-to-head result, where required
- This keeps the competition straightforward while rewarding teams that consistently win their sets.
How the Pairings Work
Strongest pair plays strongest pair.
Before matches begin, StriveX will calculate the combined ratings of each possible pairing and arrange the six pairings from strongest to weakest.
The pairing order is determined by the combined player ratings rather than subjective selection.
For example, the strongest pairing from Team A will face the strongest pairing from Team B, the second strongest will face the second strongest, and so on.
This means teams cannot simply choose favourable matchups on the day.
The aim is to create balanced, like-for-like competition throughout each team match.
